Powerball Changes
Starting January 15, 2012

As you may know by now, Powerball is making some changes to the game beginning on January 15, 2012. It's important to note that you need not do anything to change your play. Our prices will remain the same.

We have listed the changes below and what they will mean to you. It will be interesting to see what the impact will be to the game. The Powerball folks expect higher jackpots and more millionaires. We suggest you stick with the status quo for now and see how it all plays out. Then if you decide to make any changes, we are here to help you anytime.

Powerball is raising their price to $2 per ticket. For that:

• The jackpot will start at $40 million.
• The second prize will increase from $200,000 to $1,000,000 and the second prize is 34X Easier to win than the jackpot!!
• The $3 prize will increase to $4
• The red ball (Powerball) will be reduced from 39 numbers to 35 numbers.
• The odds of winning the jackpot will drop from 195 million to 1 to 175 million to 1.
• The overall odds will drop from 35 to 1 to 31.8 to 1.

In order to keep our prices the same, we will need to reduce the number of powerball tickets in half, so there won't be any changes in what you pay. We will, however, create an option so if you want to increase the number of Powerball tickets to where they were before, you will be able to do that.

You may want to switch to Mega Millions. That game also has huge jackpots like Powerball, but the ticket price will remain at $1. That game also has huge jackpots like Powerball, but the ticket price will remain at $1. The odds of hitting the jackpot will be almost identical as Powerball, but the second prize, which is $250,000 is about 30% easier to win. And, the fourth prize is $150 instead of $100. So Mega Millions could be a good substitute if you don't like the changes to Powerball. Each game has its own benefits and drawbacks.

Here's what's happening to Powerball Power Play (which we call the Multiplier pool):

The cost of adding the Power Play option will remain the same - just an extra $1. To keep the price to you the same, we will only have to reduce the number of tickets by 1/3rd. The multiplier will now be fixed depending on the prize. Here are the new prizes when you pay for the Power Play option:

• $1 million will increase to $2 million.
• $10,000 will increase to $40,000.
• $100 will increase to $200.
• $7 will increase to $14.
• $4 will increase to $12.

The 7th Millionaire Raffle went on sale November 1, 2011, with the final drawing scheduled for January 4, 2012.

We began forming pools on Nov 1 and will continue to do so until all of the tickets are sold out. The tickets seem to be going fairly quickly and so if you haven't already joined a pool, or if you would like to get into more pools, we suggest that you do so soon.

Here are the pertinent facts:

• Tickets went on sale November 1, 2011
• There will be 300,000 total tickets available
• The cost of the tickets is $20 each
• We will be forming groups of 5 with 4 tickets available in each pool

The Prize Structure is as Follows::

• 1 Grand Prize of $1,000,000 (January 4, 2012)
• 6 prizes of $100,000 (1/4/12)
• 40 prizes of $10,000 (1/4/12)
• 750 prizes of $1,000 (1/4/12)
• 350 prizes of $500 (1/4/12)

Remember that there are
only 300,000 tickets available.
Once they’re gone…that’s it.

We are proposing the following:

1. You can spend $20 and be placed in a pool with 4 others (so 5 total), sharing 4 raffle entries. If you'd like to spend more, other pools should be available, thus you can spend multiples of $20 to get into multiple pools.
2. In order to hold costs down, numbers purchased for you and your group will be posted on our website only. Once your order has been placed and we purchase the raffle tickets, you can come back to this page and enter your ID number to view the raffle serial numbers purchased for you. For those of you who don't have access to a computer, just call us and we will give you your raffle ticket numbers.
3. Once the drawing occurs, our super-duper, all knowing computer will tell us immediately who the winners are and what your share is. We will post this on the website as well.
4. Because there will be only a limited number of tickets sold, and we don't know exactly when they will sell out, all orders are subject to availability and we recommend you get your order in as soon as possible.
5. We are and will continue to take orders as long as tickets are still available. You may send a check (payable to PowerPick) or pay using your bank card or check by phone.
